Welcome to Top 10 Tuesday! This is a weekly challenge hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, and this week’s challenge is about places in books I’d love to visit!
It was initially places I’d love to live, but I changed it to visit because, well, I’m a homebody and I don’t really want to move anywhere far away (not permanently at least). It was so difficult to choose for this one! There are so many book settings I’d love to visit for a short amount of time, and it was fun to reminisce on all of the great places books have helped me travel to. Without further ado, here are my top ten choices for places in books I’d love to visit (in no particular order)!
1. “Little Women” by Louisa May Alcott
2. “Call Me by Your Name” by Andre Aciman
Genre: Romance
That small Italian town just sounds so wonderful and relaxing, I’d love to visit there and eat yummy Italian food! Maybe no peaches though…

4. “Girl with a Pearl Earring” by Tracy Chevalier
Genre: Historical Fiction
I’ve been to The Netherlands before, but only to Amsterdam! I’d love to visit some of the smaller towns and cities. Try out the food, visit museums, frolic in tulip fields…

6. “Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine” by Gail Honeyman
Genre: Realistic Fiction
I really want to go to the UK! Especially to Scotland. As far as I can tell from pictures, it’s absolutely beautiful, and I can’t wait to go there someday and explore!

7. “Howl’s Moving Castle” by Diana Wynne Jones
Genre: Fantasy (Middle Grade)
The setting that Jones created in this book is just so whimsical and magical, and I think it would be so much fun to visit there! Well, as long as I don’t run into any evil witches who try to turn me into an old lady…

8. “What Alice Forgot” by Liane Moriarty
Genre: Realistic Fiction
This book is set in Australia! Honestly, I’m a little nervous to visit Australia because it seems like there are a lot of big bugs, spiders, and snakes… But I think I could be brave enough to visit for a few days? It definitely seems like a really beautiful place.

9. Anything by Sarah Dessen
Genre: YA Fiction
Many of Sarah Dessen’s novels take place in small, idyllic beach towns on the East Coast during the summer. They just seem so quaint and quirky and wonderful, and I’d love to visit there someday! I’m sure there are similar towns in real life that I could visit on the East Coast!

10. “Jurassic Park” by Michael Crichton
Genre: Science Fiction
Okay, so I would never actually be brave enough to visit this park. And I think the whole idea is ridiculous and dangerous and should never happen in real life. That being said, if it did exist and it was actually safe, it would be pretty incredible to get to see actual dinosaurs!

Even though they’re poor, the Marches are so full of love and fun! I would love to visit them as well, just to feel the warmth of their home and sisterhood.
