Top 10 Tuesday: Book Titles That Are Questions

Welcome to Top 10 Tuesday! This is a weekly challenge hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, and this week’s challenge is about book titles that are questions!

I definitely found this week’s topic a little challenging! I thought of one title right away off the top of my head, but then couldn’t think of any more. So I scrolled through the list of books I’ve read on Goodreads, and could only find two more. Then, I looked through all of the unread books on my bookshelves and found two more… Then after some more hard thinking and internet searching, I managed to come up with a list of ten. But it was tough! I think titles in the forms of questions are fun, and I was surprised to find that there weren’t more of them! I didn’t think this would be as challenging as it was. Therefore, there’s quite a mix of books on this list. You’ll find children’s books, books I’ve read and enjoyed (as well as books that I’ve really disliked), books I own but haven’t read yet, and some books that are on my radar but that I don’t own yet. Without further ado, here are my top 10 book titles that are questions!

1. “Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret” by Judy Blume

Are You There God? It's Me Margaret.: Blume, Judy: 0884632566239: Amazon.com: Books

This was the first one I thought of for this prompt! An iconic book with an iconic, interrogative title.

2. “Which Witch?” by Eva Ibbotson

Which Witch? by Eva Ibbotson

When I was a kid, I would always say that this was my favorite book! I recently tracked down a copy on ThriftBooks with the cover I remember from when I was a kid (the cover pictured above), and I’m excited to reread it at some point!

3. “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?” by Bill Martin Jr. & Eric Carle

Amazon.com: Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? (9780805017441): Martin Jr., Bill, Carle, Eric: Books

One of my favorite picture books to read with my parents when I was little!

4. “Where’s Waldo?” by Martin Handford

Where's Waldo?: Handford, Martin, Handford, Martin: 9781536210651: Amazon.com: Books

I’m not sure if this one counts, but I think it should! I loved these books when I was a kid, and it was always so fun to try and find Waldo in the pictures (honestly, I still have fun with them now! He’s hard to find sometimes!).

5. “Will You Please Be Quiet, Please?” by Raymond Carver

Will You Please Be Quiet, Please?: Stories: Carver, Raymond: 9780679735694: Amazon.com: Books

I read this one for my IB English class when I was in high school. As far as I remember, I didn’t hate it, but I did think it was very strange. I recently flipped through my copy of this one and found my old notes on it from when I read it for class! I normally don’t write in books, but I guess I made an exception for this since it was for school. It was really interesting to read through my old notes on the various stories.

6. “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” by Philip K. Dick

Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep: Philip K. Dick: 9780575094185: Amazon.com: Books

I read this one last year and hated it. Just thinking about still makes me a little angry, so I won’t go into further detail. I’ll just attach my review here!

7. “Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria?” by Beverly Daniel Tatum, PhD

Why Are All the Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria?: And Other Conversations About Race: Tatum, Beverly Daniel: 9780465060689: Amazon.com: Books

I bought this one recently and am really looking forward to reading it!

8. “Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns)” by Mindy Kaling

Amazon.com: Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) eBook: Kaling, Mindy: Kindle Store

I haven’t read this one (nor do I own it), but I always think about it when I have an extra credit to spend on Audible. Oftentimes, memoirs like this that are narrated by the author are really good! Has anyone read this one? And would you recommend it?

9. “Why Not Me?” by Mindy Kaling

Why Not Me?: Kaling, Mindy: 9780804138161: Amazon.com: Books

I realized that Mindy Kaling’s follow-up book also has a title that is a question! I don’t own this one either, but I really enjoy her work as an actor/writer/etc. and hope to read one of her books at some point!

10. “Where Am I Now? True Stories of Girlhood and Accidental Fame” by Mara Wilson

Where Am I Now?: True Stories of Girlhood and Accidental Fame: Wilson, Mara: 9780143128229: Amazon.com: Books

I was doing some searching online to find a couple more book titles that are questions, and I came across this one! I actually had never heard of this one before, but was so excited when I discovered it! It sounds like a great book, and I’m definitely going to be looking to add this one to my TBR now!

11. “What Would Frida Do? A Guide to Living Boldly” by Arianna Davis

What Would Frida Do?: A Guide to Living Boldly: Davis, Arianna: 9781541646322: Amazon.com: Books

Okay, I have a bonus one for you! I had already made my list, but I was scrolling on Instagram and came across a post by @pieladybooks that reminded me of this book that I’ve been wanting to read! HERE is the link to her account, and if you don’t already follow her you should! Her pies look beautiful and delicious, and come with great book recommendations! I love Frida Kahlo, and always love to have the opportunity to learn more about her. I don’t own this one yet, but I really, really want to read it at some point!

Have you read any of these books? What would your top ten be?

Let me know in the comments!
