Welcome to Top 10 Tuesday! This is a weekly challenge hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, and this week’s challenge is about books from my past seasonal TBR posts that I STILL haven’t read yet!
I don’t know if I feel called out or completely seen by this prompt (I’m going to go with seen), but needless to say I have way more than 10 books that could appear on this list! I love making those seasonal TBR lists, but I’m horrible at sticking to them! Some of them have definitely been more successful than others (especially the older ones). For this post, I went back through each season of TBR lists going back to spring 2021. I then picked anywhere from 1-3 books I haven’t read yet from each one to highlight here (prioritizing ones that showed up on multiple lists that still haven’t been read, as well as anything else that is still really high on my mental TBR list). Without further ado, here are my top ten books from past seasonal TBR posts that I STILL haven’t read yet!

Spring 2022 (1 out of 10 read)
Yikes! I really was not successful with this TBR. To be fair, some of the older lists seem more successful because more time has passed since publishing them, and many of the books I read from those lists were not completed in the season I had intended to read them. Hopefully that will be the case for this list as well!
1. Dragon Springs Road by Janie Chang

I’ve had this one for so long now and I really do want to read it!! I don’t know why it keeps falling down on my list.
2. Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan

This one also showed up on my Summer 2021 list!
Winter 2021/2022 (2 out of 10 read)
This one isn’t much better than the last one! Again, though, not that much time has passed since it was published, so hopefully with time I’ll be able to look at it again and see more of them checked off the list!
3. All Boys Aren’t Blue by George M. Johnson

This one was also on my Spring 2022 list!
4. You Changed My Life by Abdel Sellou

I’m going to sound like a broken record, but I really do want to read this one too!! I’m definitely slower to get through my nonfiction, but I’m confident I’ll get to it eventually!
Fall 2021 (2 out of 10 read)
I love this list. It was very themed for fall/Halloween, but unfortunately that time of year is very busy for me as a teacher and I just wasn’t able to read as much as I wanted to. These books are also definitely very seasonal (for the most part), and a lot of them I’m hoping to try again to get to this year in the fall.
5. The Princess Bride by William Goldman

I think the length of this one daunts me, but hopefully after reading The Count of Monte Cristo I won’t be as intimidated by long books!
6. Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo

I got this one for my birthday last year, so I haven’t had it for too long. I’ll definitely get to it at some point! I’ve heard really great things about it.
Summer 2021 (6 out of 10 read)
Finally, a more successful list! It’s important to note, though, that most of these were not actually read during summer 2021 (in fact, I think only one of them was), but still! If I can complete the next three on the list in addition to Crazy Rich Asians, I’ll be able to say that I’ve completed this entire list!
7. Jurassic Park by Michael Crighton

I think I’m somewhat hesitant to read this because I read Sphere and really didn’t like it, but hopefully this one will be better!
8. I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter by Erika L. Sánchez

I’ll definitely have to get to this one before the Netflix adaptation comes out!
9. Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi

I don’t read a lot of fantasy, but I’m still excited to try this one eventually!
Spring 2021 (9 out of 10 read)
This one is different than my other lists because it was specific to audiobooks, and I listen to my audiobooks in a more predictable order than my physical books. However, there was still one that I didn’t end up getting to for some reason!
10. Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky

This is one where the length intimidated me again, but it definitely won’t be an issue after accomplishing The Count of Monte Cristo. Once I finish that one I’ll probably do something shorter/lighter as a palette cleanser, but then maybe this one is on deck after that? We’ll see!
Have you read any of these books? What would your top ten be?
Let me know in the comments!
I read Princess Bride last year and was delighted by it.
I find that my desire to read particular books depends on a lot of timing issues. If I don’t read a book soon after I place it on my TBR it will likely get shoved to the side by something else. My TTT list

Children of Blood and Bone is one that I have wanted to read for a while now! And I love the film of The Princess Bride so much! Great list and I hope you love them all when you get to read them.
These are the books I still haven’t read from previous tbr posts!

No pressure to read it, but The Princess Bride was excellent!

You’ve done better with each list that you mentioned! As a mood reader, I’m terrible with sticking to any kind of reading list so props to you! I really enjoyed Crichton’s Jurassic Park and Six of Crows but I also have All Boys Aren’t Blue on my list. I hope you enjoy these books whenever you get to them 🙂

I also still need to read Crazy Rich Asians.

I get distracted by Blog Tours and library books so end up leaving my own books…
You did well to read some of them! Hopefully the rest will follow at some point.
Have a great week!

I’ve read Children of Blood and Bone and Six of Crows both of which I really enjoyed, but then I am a big fantasy reader, so they were right up my street. I am the same, I tend to eventually read everything that was on a seasonal TBR list but usually not in the season I made the list!

I’d have way more than ten on my list, except that I’ve never made a seasonal TBR list! Children of Blood and Bone would be on mine, though, as would The Princess Bride. As much as I love the movie, I’ve never read the book. That must be remedied!
Stop by and see my top ten list!

I read Crime and Punishment quite recently – it’s a biggie but definitely worth persevering with. My TTT post is here: https://wordywitterings.com/2022/07/26/ttt-books-that-have-been-lingering-on-my-tbr-pile-for-far-too-long/
